Lee Jeong-Lok
Mythic Scape

From his series Mythic Scape he says it is generated when he encounters the scenery that makes him feel like he is in realm of nirvana beyond reality. Through his interventions he tries to depict emotions and spiritual imaginations that the sceneries inspired. He places a few objects or a person to express mythical sceneries existing in us as traces of our inner world. Every myth talks about another world that, according to him, co-exists with the real world we look at and live in. “This other world has powerful presence that we cannot see. In Korea we call it the heavenly realm of gods. The faith in this presence is basically the theme of the series, Mythic Scape”.
