Nuevo paisaje urbano

During the last two decades, the growing immigrant communities have changed Spain’s face, its people’s and its cities’. In these cities new businesses have been created by the immigrant community. Many of these businesses have for her an irresistible visual appeal. Countless products are gathered in perfect order and generate unique geometries and colour combinations. These shops give us clues to understand their owners: through the items sold, the meticulousness of their organization or the decoration chosen for their premises.
Born in Taipei, Taiwan, in 1977, Amy Chang moved to Houston (USA) at the age of one and lived there until she finished her university studies. Since then, she has lived in San Francisco, Paris and, since 2003, in Madrid. Chang graduated with a degree in Sociology, undertook postgraduate studies in Political Science and Photojournalism, and continued her studies in Photography in Paris and Madrid.
