His work on hunting summarises in images, the aesthetics of which are markedly contemporary, an activity inherent in human beings from ancestral times. It illustrates how the conquest of the countryside becomes a romantic ideal: the countryside that city dwellers seek is not a wild place, or even agricultural. It is a theme park where one can go to consume what is authentic.

Ricardo Cases was born in Orihuela, Alicante, in 1971. He is part of the Blank Paper photography association. In 2006 he was selected for Descubrimientos PhotoEspaña and in 2007 he won the Nuevo Talento FNAC in Photography and the Fotoreportaje ARCO awards. In 2008 he published his first book, Belleza de Barrio.
