The city has become an undeniable artistic and cultural reference. The city has permeated all media of visual culture, especially photography. The city is the main aesthetic reference for representation. Taking the opposite path, this work seeks to reflect on the possibilities that photography holds for urban intervention. Far from artistic interventions that propose spectacular physical interventions, the proposal of this work is to intervene in the viewer's gaze, so that the viewer changes and questions their perspective on their surroundings. In this way, the author proclaims a different perspective on the city we walk and tread on every day—and which, for the most part, we pay no attention to.

Born in Cáceres in 1968, Juan Santos is a computer engineer. His work has been showcased at venues ranging from the prestigious PhotoEspaña festival (Discoveries 2002 and 2003, 2006 Revelation Award at NOPHOTO, Official Selection 2007) to FotoNoviembre (2003) and the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid (2006). His street art installations based on photographs have been exhibited at La noche de las Palabras in Gijón and PhotoEspaña (2005). His work is represented by the NOPHOTO Agency, of which he is a founding member.
