The goal of this project is, in a way, to question the Getxo stereotype and, at the same time, to create an identity through this series of images that can be more connected to the reality of our town. This project, promoted by Getxophoto, was developed in the summer of 2007. At that time, about ten well-known local photographers were asked to submit two photographs; the subject, of course, was Getxo.

The result is a fun and diverse collection of photos that, far from the Basque imaginary and postcard stereotypes, shows a closer Getxo for us to get to know ourselves better. A postcard collection featuring some of these images was published and distributed for free at the Festival.

The prestigious photographers Alfredo Aldai, Elena Barrueta, Txetxu Berruezo, Fátima Diez Garaigorta, Gonzalo M. Azumendi, Oskar Martínez, Juan Luis Markaida, Asier Mentxaka, and Carlos Terreros threw themselves into the project and prepared their images for this group exhibition.
